Why aye man

What a day we had today! We started off with a change of we often do when we’re away in the mh!

We decided to not go to warkworth beach, we went to the fishing town of Amble instead. It was a lovely morning and there were many people out and about early...lots of families and dog walkers.

There is so much to look at in Amble! There is a sea wall walk, a small beach, loads of places to eat and drink and even a small market that is on every Saturday and Sunday.

It had lovely views across the River Coquet back to Warkworth Castle. We bought a tea/coffee and just enjoyed the sights and relaxed atmosphere.

After that we drove on to check out where we had planned to park up tonight....Cresswell Beach. The spot was perfect and took TJ for a promised run along the beach....he was delighted!

The beach had lots of black sediment which we later found out was coal sediment and remnants of fossilised trees! It was like really coarse black sand!

After that we drove further down the coast....driving along the North Blyth Bar....loads of big boats! Then onto St Mary’s lighthouse near Whitley Bay.
There is a tidal causeway across to the small island and people were enjoying their Sunday afternoon...with lots of kiddies playing in the rock pools. The tide was out so we walked across.

On the rocks down behind the lighthouse, there was many seals, just relaxing. Wonderful!

After that we drove further on through Whitley Bay, Seaton Sluice and Tynemouth. Everywhere was really busy and not many places to park a 6m motorhome. We would like to go back to Tynemouth one day to look at the priory and castle.

As we hadn’t eaten, we decided to go to Toby Carvery for some food! I know it’s just a chain restaurant....but it was truly delicious! The sunset when we came out was spectacular!

On the way back to our park up spot we went back to St Mary’s lighthouse to see it with the tide in....the waves were crashing over where we had previously walked across!

We also went back and stopped at Whitley Bay and walked along the prom. The area has recently been redeveloped and the Spanish City facility is well worth a visit....we went in to use the was lovely inside with so many options for eating....nice and classy too....not your usual British seaside fayre.

Lastly we drove back to our park up spot....relaxed...and listened to the waves crashing on the beach outside. TJ will be desperate to run on the beach again in the morning....but right now he is exhausted!

It's the simple things....

Tonight we are parked up at car park in doesn’t really have any spectacular views, we are staying here as free places to park up in Englandshire are few and far was dark by 4pm anyway, so views aren’t really vital.

What this park up spot does offer is space, flat space at that, it’s walking distance to the lovely castled village and also not too far from the beach.... where we plan to go first thing in the morning. It is also free with no restrictions, it’s not overlooked by any houses and is actually a quiet for tonight, it’s perfect!

Today I started off the day by walking from St Abbs to just above Coldingham beach, along the coastal path. It’s one of the many things I enjoy about being in the mh. I can just jump out of bed in the morning and walk the dog straight away, without worrying about anything else. It is brilliant just having a change of scenery and routine!

After breakfast we drove further south and stopped at Alnwick, another lovely town with a castle.

Once we parked up at our spot in Warkworth, we explored the village. We were back at the mh just as the sun was setting behind the castle.

Tonight I am cooking lamb burgers, with mushrooms and gravy, with mash. We will listen to radio 2 and play yahtzee and top trumps! Again.....its great to have a break from the normal routine of searching the tv channels looking for something decent to watch.

Tomorrow, after we have been to the beach....we are heading further south and hoping to get a Sunday roast dinner somewhere....perfection! It’s the simple things that give the greatest happiness!

2019 Tough times.... #2020smilesbetter

So my little blog is now a year old!

Saying that, I have been very quiet the second half of this year regards to blog posts. Life events have taken over...specifically relating to jobs. We both no longer work for our local motorhome dealer....we both received threat of redundancy letters on 13th August and life hasn’t been the same since!

I got another job very quickly and then hated ended up jobless anyway! My hubby was forced out of his job due to ‘wrong wording in an advert' and a couple of other very minor misdemeanours  which the business director very cleverly jumped on and dismissed him to avoid any redundancy rumours sticking to her or her business.... we are seeking legal advice. And well that business is just a ticking time bomb really!

This however has not affected our love of everything relating to motorhomes. We have managed to have 40 nights away this year, and in some truly stunning places in Scotland and Wales.

We are currently parked up at St Abbs harbour, where you can park up for £10 a night. The harbour is stunning with rocky views and a lovely fishing village. We have a sheltered spot overlooking the sea and there is also toilets available....which is handy when you’re keen to avoid filling up your toilet cassette too quickly!

We are planning on heading south tomorrow to explore more of the north east England coastline....the forecast is good too!

We are sitting cozy in our mh, listening to the Radio, playing board games and eating xmas choices.....perfection! #2020smilesbetter
