It's been seven years since I was last in wales. I was born in Cardiff, moved up to the Welsh valleys when I was nine years old... And then when I was 14 my parents 'dragged' me to move to a remote Scottish island.... In 1985 when I told everyone I was moving to the Outer Hebrides... They replied with..... "Where on earth is that?!" (I should make it clear.... I did actually want to make the move.... There wasn't any physical dragging involved! 😂😉)
Anyway.... Fast forward to 2019....and I have persuaded my wonderful hubby to have our latest MH adventure in Wales! 🏴
Today is day one.... Not sure if I will blog every day... I will try!
We left Inverness at 9.30am....with no definite plans for the next 14 days, other than we are going to Wales and we have to be back at work on Monday the 17th.
It was so exciting... Hitting the road with no itinerary (I'm usually a control freak and need to have everything planned!)
Saying that though, I do have some prospective spots marked on Google maps!
Our first stop tonight is at Arnside. A lovely English village not too far off the M6.
It is a quiet spot, no passing traffic, no signs banning us from parking overnight and it has seaviews across to the hills of the Lake District.
The village itself has a couple of pubs, a local shop, a chippy and a few independent shops which were closed on a Sunday evening. A perfect place for a one night stop over!
Tomorrow we are heading for Abergavenny.... WALES 🏴 ❤️ 😊
