Waking up to the glorious frosty sunny morning in Ruby Bay was stunning. Within 10 minutes we were up out walking the dog along to the point. What an awesome start to our day!
We didn’t bother with breakfast today and left shortly after, and drove to Cupar for a few items from tesco and to top up with diesel.
The drive across the countryside was stunning, frosty fields with deer. Lots of lovely little unspoilt villages, all within a short driving distance to the coastline and bigger towns. Cupar itself looked lovely, we will return here and spend more time when we next come to Fife.
We then decided to go to Anstruther, as it was one place we didn’t spend enough time in when we last visited.
What a gorgeous fishing village! The lovely weather helped.....but it really is a stunning place! Full of little cobbled narrow streets, lots of piers and slipways giving you so many different views of the town and the sea and many different independent local shops and eateries.
It also has the famous Anstruther Fish Bar....last time we were here the queue was out the door...we queued... and the food was delicious! Today it was closed, but the Waterfront chip shop was open. The queue was equally as long, they were enjoying a busy day with lots of people visiting and the Fish Bar being closed. We queued again.....and the food was equally as good.
Apparently you are allowed to park up for the night in Anstruther, alongside the harbour wall (at the Cellardyke end of the town)...you would have to be sure of the forecast though as you could get battered by the wind....or soaked!
We had already planned to park up at Kingsbarns beach, just 8 miles away.
Kingsbarns has a big carpark, a lovely sandy beach, seasonal toilets and The Cheesy Toast Shack who make the most amazing cheese toasties! We are planning one of these toasties tomorrow for brunch, before heading home.
Here’s the gorgeous sunset we were treated to tonight. I will take more photos in the morning....and of the cheese toasty too! 😍😁😍
I can’t believe that our trip away is coming to an end.....but when I think back to leaving inverness last week....it feels like ages ago! It feels like we've had 3 trips away.....one to Dunoon, Largs & Troon (forget about Girvan haha)...then the next one down around Port Patrick and the Mull of Galloway....and then the third one in Fife! What an amazing week we've had! I wonder where we will go next??? ❤❤❤
